College:
California State University, Sacramento & Faculté des Lettres, France
Major:
French, Spanish, Art
Education:
BA in French. MA in Spanish. Extended overseas learning and travels to France, Spain and Mexico.
Teaching Career:
During my 31 years of public instruction I taught Spanish I-AP and French I-IV. For two years I served as a Consulting Teacher in my district helping new teachers develop curriculum, create lesson plans and address classroom management concerns. I have presented numerous workshops on lesson-planning, classroom management, TPR story-telling, and the teaching of grammar in an immersion classroom.
Five years ago, my principal nominated me for TEACHER OF THE YEAR.
During the five years that I taught AP Spanish Language and Culture, all of my mostly non-native and non-heritage students passed the AP exam, except one.
Curriculum Developer:
I am one of the top sellers on Teachers Pay Teachers. I have been creating resources for Spanish and French teachers for 12 years. My goals are to help teachers save time, reduce burn-out and lead their students to proficiency in the target language.
Previous Employment and Interests: I was an illustrator for five years and continue to paint and draw. I love creating PowerPoints and teacher resources because it allows me to use my artistic skills. I am a prolific reader. Someday I would like to write a book and illustrate it with my paintings.
