AP Spanish Lesson Plans for an Entire Year are based primarily on the second edition of Vista Higher Learning AP Spanish Language and Culture Exam Preparation booklet (the orange booklet) and partially on Temas. These lesson plans are compatible with both books and more efficiently used in conjunction with the Temas textbook. However, they can be used independently of Temas (See list of required materials below.)

SPANISH 3, 4, AND AP KID-TESTED CURRICULUM

 

This full-year curriculum is kid-tested and refined during 30 years of teaching. Lesson plans include comprehensible input, TPRS Stories, videos, games, engaging PowerPoints, interactive notebook activities, autocorrecting tests and quizzes, digital escape rooms, songs, audios for absent students, and much more.

 

Spanish 3 curriculum and lesson plans include some AP Themes and Pre-AP Activities to prepare students for Spanish Four and AP: interpersonal speaking (conversación simulada, oral presentation, (comparisons) interpersonal writing (emails), interpretive readings, presentational writing. (They are introduced to writing a five-paragraph essay with transitions, a thesis statement, developing paragraphs, and conclusion) and authentic listening practices. ATTENTION: The test-prep booklet is organized by sections, not by themes. The daily lesson plans are organized by theme, and therefore, do not follow the activities in the order presented in the booklet. Reorganization allows students to discuss related topics and see relevant vocabulary repeated in context, stay in the same theme and practice all sections of the test during each theme. Jumping pages is a negative result of the way the activities in the booklet were organized but should present no problems to the students. Just tell them what pages to open.

This full year curriculum meets all the Learning Objectives set forth by the College Board for AP Spanish Language and Culture and is based upon the three modes of communication: “Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational” and the six themes: “La belleza y la estética, La vida contemporánea, Las familias y las comunidades, Los desafíos mundiales, Las identidades personales y públicas y La ciencia y la tecnología”.
